12/18/2001 The PRS v1.00b maintenance release: This maintenance release fixes two problems which appeared in PRS v1.00a with the scene copy and activity copy buttons. We recommend installing this upgraded version to avoid encountering the problem. NOTE: This is not a full install file for the PRS program. This is only intended to replace the PRS1.exe file where it has already been installed. If you add new installs you will have to run your old SetupPRSxx.exe program, and then use this program to replace your old PRS1.exe file with the new one. This is a maintenance release and not a version upgrade. PRS 1.10 is currently being worked on with a number of improvements and enhancements. We are targeting the beta to be ready around the winter holidays, so you will be able to use it for your spring shows. Instructions for Installing the PRS v1.00b maintenance release: Before performing this (or any other) upgrade, back up your data files. In this case we recommend making two copies of the backup. The new version will upgrade the file structure of your files, so they can no longer be read by the previous version. If for any reason you want to go back to the previous version, you wil need a file backup made before this upgrade. After you have made your backups, you may continue with the installation. To upgrade your PRS v1.00 (or v1.00a) to v1.00b, you must run the program 100b_PRS.exe This program will expand a compressed version of the new PRS1.exe program, which you will use to replace your existing PRS1.exe file. (The new version keeps the same filename, so this upgrade will have no effect on shortcuts you may have created.) If you are running several shows on your computer (and hence have several installs of PRS1.exe) you will want to replace PRS1.exe for each of them. If you have renamed the PRS1.exe file in any of these cases, you will need to do the same to the expanded replacement. The expansion program does not search your drives for old PRS files. You will need to navigate it to the correct folders. (It starts out aimed at the default C:\Program Files\OnSet\PRS1\ directory.) Run the 100b_PRS.exe program either from your Start | Run menu (and browsing to find it) or by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer. The PRS v1.00b Extraction Program window will open, containing a directory tree which should have the C:\Program Files\Onset\PRS1\ directory highlighted. If this is where your PRS is installed, click the Finish button. If your PRS program is installed elsewhere, navigate to (and highlight) the appropriate directory and press Finish. A password-protection window will open. Your password was emailed to you separately. If you are a registerd user and have not yet received it, please contact us and we will get the password to you as soon as possible. After you type in the password, click the OK button. A warning screen will pop up asking you to verify that you are replacing your old PRS1.exe file with this new one. Press the Yes button to perform the replacement. This copies the new file over your old one. Your new version is now installed. Repeat this installation process for each PRS directory. Please let us know if you have any problems, and as always contact us with any questions, comments or complaints. Break a Leg, --- Dave Sperling www.onsetsoftware.com daves@onsetsoftware.com
